Wow… Look at how happy they are! Angela with the biggest smile ever!
In early April I had an amazing experience as the wedding photographer for Angela and Steve.
It was only a few short month’s ago that I photographed Angela’s brother, Herbert’s wedding. It feels like I’ve known these guys for years, and catching up with them was like catching up with old friends.![]()
When we met to talk about the wedding, Angela and Steve painted a picture in my head as they told me the story of how they were engaged:
India, late 2010; Angela and Steve were on a long long train journey. There was a mix up with their tickets and instead of travelling in a cabin, they were stuck in an area so cramped that even the toilets were used as seats.
Violently ill, Steve was throwing up throughout the trip (I can just imagine how uncomfortable it would be).
During this time of great discomfort, Angela tirelessly took care of Steve and attended to his every need…
Knowing that Angela was his special someone; totally unplanned, unromantic, between trips to the toilet, Steve asked Angela to marry him…. awwwwww!
“In sickness and in health…” touching…![]()
The formalities of the day were taken care of early in the morning at the NSW Marriage Registry in Chippendale. From there it was onto Centennial Park for some photography.

This next one is sooo cute!

Then it was off to lunch at the excellent Etch Restaurant.
I have dined at Etch before and I just love the antique feel of the place (and the food of course!).
I loved all the beautiful natural light from the windows; absolutely gorgeous!

Pictures don’t do this cake justice, it was so pretty it looked straight out of a magazine!

Steve’s father’s speech made everyone laugh!

Angela’s sister Christine also made a speech.
I was moved by Angela’s speech when she spoke at Herbert’s wedding; and likewise I was also deeply moved by Christine’s speech…

As the speech progressed, I too found it hard and had to spend a quiet moment to myself…
Very very touching…
You really are a beautiful family…

Then the newlyweds spoke… Steve had a few important things to say including a well rehearsed paragraph in Cantonese! Good job buddy!

In the final speech, Angela thanked her mum for all the sacrifices she has made for them…

And a great time was had by all!

Angela and Steve…. thank you! thank you! thank you! I don’t know what more to say![]()
